JD Sports launches probe into working conditions

JD Sports is launching an investigation into working conditions and said it would retrain its supervisory staff, following a television news report alleging "Shocking treatment" of workers in one of its warehouses. "It's increasingly clear that Sports Direct wasn't one bad apple and that terrible working practices are taking place across the UK," she added. The undercover footage from Channel 4 featured workers at JD Sports alleging they were subject to random security searches, and could be sacked if they sat down or if they committed three small misdemeanours, which included chewing gum.
