Dido Harding steps down as TalkTalk chief executive

Dido Harding will step down as chief executive of TalkTalk after a seven-year tenure that saw the telecoms group suffer one of the most high-profile cyber attacks in UK corporate history. TalkTalk said on Wednesday that Baroness Harding, a Conservative peer, would leave the telecoms group in May. She will be replaced as chief executive by Tristia Harrison, who currently runs TalkTalk's consumer business. "After seven extraordinary and fulfilling years, during which we have transformed TalkTalk's customer experience and laid the foundations for long term growth, I've decided it's time for me to start handing over the reins at TalkTalk and focus more on my activities in public service," she said. Sir Charles Dunstone, currently non-executive chairman of TalkTalk, will become executive chairman of the telecoms group in May as part of the management reshuffle. Sir Charles will step down from his role as chairman of Dixons Carphone, the telecoms retailer, in order to take on the more senior role at TalkTalk.
