Sainsbury's sales fall for first nine weeks of the year
The supermarket's like-for-like sales, which strip out new stores, fell by 0.5% in the period to 11 March. Argos sales rose 4.3%, resulting in a 0.3% increase across the Sainsbury's group as a whole. Mike Coupe, chief executive, said the impact of rising cost pressures "Remains uncertain".
