Vodafone to recruit women on career breaks

Women face challenges when coming back to work including a "Pay penalty", according to think tank the Resolution Foundation. In the 2015-16 financial year, just 24% of senior management at Vodafone were women. "There are women who think that if they lose their career momentum it cannot be recovered," said Mr Calao. Fiona Packman, a partner at the executive headhunters Egon Zehnder, says women who return to work after having a child face many hurdles. Recent research from the Resolution Foundation found women who leave work to have children face a severe "Pay penalty" when they return to work.
