Three former Tesco executives due to stand trial
Three former Tesco executives accused of fraud and false accounting are due to stand trial on Monday in one of the most high-profile prosecutions ever brought by the Serious Fraud Office. The three men on trial all held senior positions within Tesco. The anti-fraud agency is prosecuting Barclays along with four former executives - including John Varley, the bank's former chief executive - on charges of fraud related to emergency cash injections that saved the bank at the height of the 2008 financial crisis. Carl Rogberg, 50, is a former finance director for Tesco UK. He joined the supermarket retailer in 2007 and during that time held various positions including chief financial officer of Tesco Lotus, the Thailand operation. Christopher Bush is the former UK managing director of Tesco.
