Sky Bet extends English Football League sponsorship deal

Sky Bet has extended its multi-million pound sponsorship deal with the English Football League until the summer of 2024. The gambling operation is the headline sponsor for the Championship, League One and League Two football divisions. The money from the deal will be divided among the 72 clubs in the English Football League, which sits under the Premier League in terms of professional football club rankings. Richard Flint, chief executive of Sky Betting & Gaming, said: "We're delighted to sign this new deal with the EFL and believe the additional focus we and the League are both placing on responsible gambling will show that well run betting operators can play an active part in raising awareness of problem gambling." One of the findings of the BBC's annual Price of Football survey was that more young football fans bet on games than play the sport.
