Netflix's rise and rise
From 700,000 Netflix subscribers in 2002 to 3.6m in 2005, there was clearly a demand for DVD rental. Two years later, in 2007, America saw the launch of the feature Netflix is best known for - streaming. In 2010 Netflix became available in Canada, with Latin America and the Caribbean being added the following year. In 2012, fifteen years after Reed Hastings and Marc Randolph founded the company, Netflix became available in the UK.Not just Netflix. Only one year before Netflix became available in the UK, the 'Netflix of Europe' - LoveFilm - was bought by Amazon.
