Dixons Carphone: who dares spins
In his first outing as chief executive of Dixons Carphone, Alex Baldock could not wait to pass on the bad news about the company he had joined. Mr Baldock waited until almost the end of his statement on full-year results to address the issue. Mr Baldock needs the trust of investors if they are to back his attempt to turn Dixons round. Dixons is pinning its hopes on more online sales as footfall drops at its physical stores. Expect Mr Baldock to talk in a whisper until he has good news to shout about.
