Tesco UK chief steps down after cancer treatment
Retailer Tesco said its UK and Ireland CEO is stepping down from the role as he recuperates from throat cancer. Charles Wilson has been undergoing daily radiotherapy in recent months, the company said, adding that he has "Responded very well" to the treatment. To help his recovery, Mr Wilson is stepping down from his CEO role and from the PLC board, but will remain on the executive committee and will focus on the Booker wholesale business that Tesco bought earlier this year. He will be replaced by current chief product officer Jason Tarry.
