Rolls-Royce chief to leave Dyson board

Warren East, chief executive of Rolls-Royce is to step down from the board of Dyson after six years as a non-executive director at the vacuum maker, robbing the innovation group of a significant industrial expert as it embarks on its high-risk venture to break into the market for electric cars. The move comes just three months after Dyson announced the company was moving its headquarters to Singapore, primarily because of the vehicle project. Most of Dyson's monthly board meetings are currently in the UK, but many of these will move to its new headquarters after the relocation. The decision by Dyson to move to the other side of the world sparked concerns a leading manufacturer was deserting Britain with just weeks to go before Brexit - a policy backed by founder Sir James Dyson. The company is trying to evolve from a maker of household appliances to a manufacturer of electric vehicles.
