Volvo recalls 70,000 cars in the UK over fire risk

Volvo is recalling almost 70,000 cars in the UK over concerns that they could catch fire. The issue affects some cars made in the past five years. Volvo did not say how many fires had been recorded, but said that there had been no reports of injuries related to the fault. The problem affects cars from the models years 2014 to 2019 with four-cylinder diesel engines. Volvo makes 600,000 cars each year, of which around 50,000 are sold in the UK - fewer than are being recalled in the country.
