Debenhams finance chief quits to join Ted Baker

Rachel Osborne, the chief financial officer who helped steer Debenhams through a complicated pre-pack administration and restructuring, is leaving the group after a year to take up the same role at Ted Baker. Debenhams said it appointed Mike Hazell, currently group finance director, to the CFO role. Chief executive Stefaan Vansteenkiste stressed that Mr Hazell "Played a key part in the refinancing and restructuring activity over the past 12 months", which included a recapitalisation and a company voluntary arrangement to reduce lease obligations. Mr Vansteenkiste, a restructuring specialist who was named chief executive of Debenhams in August, is widely regarded as an interim appointment. Ted Baker has been without a full-time chief financial officer since Lindsay Page, who previously held the role, stepped up to become chief executive following Ray Kelvin's departure in March.
