Persimmon taps National Express boss Dean Finch as new chief

Persimmon Homes has appointed Dean Finch, the longtime chief executive of National Express, as its new boss. The company, which is the UK's most profitable housebuilder, announced the appointment on Wednesday morning and said that Mr Finch would take up the new role at the end of the year. A proportion of Mr Finch's pay will be linked to improving customer care at the company, which was the subject of a damning report into its treatment of customers late last year. Mr Finch joins after a decade at the helm of transport group National Express. Jeff Fairburn, the previous boss of the company, received £85m in total remuneration over two years.
