City Bulletin: Cineworld confirms closures affecting 45,000 employees
Cineworld has confirmed it will suspend operations at all 536 of its US Regal cinemas and its 127 Cineworld and Picturehouse UK cinemas from Thursday, with the closures affecting around 45,000 employees. Film studios have been reluctant to release new films with many US regions - notably New York - still shut, Cineworld said. Finally handbag maker Mulberry reported a pre-tax loss £48m for the year to March after writing down the value of stores by £32m because of the expected impact of Covid-19 on future trading. BlackRock is under fire after backing fewer environmental votes at shareholder meetings this year than last. Nexi floated last year in Europe's largest stock market listing, and it will represent around 70 per cent of the combined group.
