John Lewis names former Tesco UK boss as new head
Retail group John Lewis has said that the former boss of Tesco's UK business will become its next chairman. Jason Tarry, who led Tesco's UK and Ireland business for six years, will take up the role in September. Falls in chocolate and jam prices slow food inflation. Strong competition in March drove down some retail prices, but Easter treats were more expensive. Shoppers on average spent £13.52 on four chocolate treats this year amid soaring cocoa prices.
