New Facebook rocket icon links to 'complementary' second news feed

Some Facebook users are seeing a new rocket icon on their menu bar. It's appeared on iOS and Android apps and links to a second news feed of content chosen for the user by Facebook. Facebook has a history of testing new features on small groups before rolling them out more widely if they prove popular. It's believed the second feed flags up content, like articles and videos, that Facebook algorithms select for the user based on past likes and interests. Much like Instagram's explore tab, the feed will link to things the user hasn't expressly liked, but that is similar in tone or content.
