French Connection rejected takeover approach by US group
French Connection has said it rejected an unwanted takeover approach last year, while also reporting that its losses are narrowing while sales have improved. "During the year we received an unsolicited approach about a potential offer for the Group from a third party in the US.". French Connection logged a £2.3m loss in the year to January, making this the sixth year in a row it has slumped into the red. The improved trading came on the back of a tumultuous few years in French Connection's boardroom. French Connections gross margin is still falling, having declined 0.5 percentage points to 56.3 per cent last year.
