French Connection soars as retailer mulls ‘strategic options’
French Connection rose 36.4 per cent in early London trading, after the UK-based global fashion brand said over the weekend that it was reviewing strategic options. The clothing group confirmed on Saturday that one of the options was a sale of the company. The retailer's major shareholders are companies controlled by Stephen Marks, who founded it in 1969, and Sports Direct, the sportswear chain controlled by Mike Ashley. The shares were trading up 15.6p to 58.5 in London. Get alerts on UK companies when a new story is published.
