European retailers take a hit after Asos profit warning

Shares in European retailers dropped across the board on Monday after online fashion shop Asos warned its trading "Significantly" deteriorated during November. Asos fell more than 37 per cent to £26.56. Other retailers' stocks also dropped, with declines mostly hitting high street clothing retailers such as Next, which saw its shares drop by more than 7 per cent in early Monday trading. The stocks of Ted Baker and sporting goods retailers JD Sports and Sports Direct also fell more than 3 per cent. European retail stocks also experienced declines, with shares in Berlin-based online fashion retailer Zalando tumbling as much as 16 per cent.
