Travelodge plans 100 new hotels by 2024

UK budget hotel chain Travelodge plans to open 100 hotels by 2024 despite warning of short-term economic challenges. The private company is the second-largest economy hotel chain in the UK, trailing rival Premier Inn by just over 200 hotels. In 2018, Travelodge opened 17 hotels, including its largest ever new site: a 395-room hotel in the City of London. In 2018, the budget hotel sector represented 69 per cent of new-build hotel stock and 65 per cent of all hotel extensions in the UK, according to research by Knight Frank.
