Bramson’s showdown with Barclays nears
Edward Bramson's Barclays showdown is nearly here. After the exit of Tim Throsby, the former head of Barclays' investment bank last month, investment bankers' pay is the latest thing to be targeted. The bank plans to cut bonuses as part of a plan to boost returns at the lacklustre investment division, my colleagues David Crow and Stephen Morris report. Barclays chief executive Jes Staleyis fighting to keep the global investment bank. While the activist pressure is still on, it appears a pretty tough place to be an investment banker.
