Dyson is planning to make 15,000 medical ventilators for delivery within weeks. Dyson told staff it had received an order from the government for 10,000, but James Dyson will pay for a further 5,000 to be made, 4,000 of which will be donated to other countries. Vacuum cleaner group Dyson repurposing itself as a ventilator maker is only the latest example of companies retooling themselves to meet the new demands of the coronavirus crisis.
