Barclays: narrative buried under brain-frying numbers, by Jove

If the old Latin zinger is correct, Jupiter & Co have a down on people whose duties include reading half-year results statements from Barclays. Barclays has capital adequate to cope, as represented by core equity tier one of 13.6 per cent. The fuzzier but more meaningful takeaway is that Barclays is complex and unpredictable. For this reason, Barclays shares trade at only half their tangible book value. The market capitalisation is almost twice that of Barclays.
