Cloned cars sold in Greater Manchester eBay scam
Criminals are using eBay to sell stolen and cloned cars, duping victims out of tens of thousands of pounds, a BBC investigation has revealed. The vehicles were being sold in Greater Manchester via at least three accounts on the website after having their details switched with legitimate cars. Greater Manchester Police has declined to confirm whether it is investigating. Car cloning is often used as a method to sell stolen cars. An eBay spokesman said the company was yet to be contacted by Greater Manchester Police.
