Top stockpicker Huw van Steenis has opted to pack his bags just one year after joining Schroders. Still, City Insider hears that a return to the old hunting ground - research on European banks and diversified financials - isn't on the cards for the larger-than-life City bigwig. Where has the romance gone? On Valentine's day, engineering giant GKN promised its shareholders happiness in the form of returns of £2.5bn in cash over the next three years. GKN's chairman Michael John Turner introduced Anne Stevens, the former Ford executive who was appointed chief executive last month, as "My valentine". After more than seven years at the helm, the 58-year-old will hand over to protégé John Flint at midnight on Tuesday after the group's annual results.
