Opening Quote: ITV — quite literally more than just TV

Since 1998, England's World Cup win ratio on BBC is 71 per cent, against just 15 per cent on ITV. ITV could do with some wins of its own, too. Total advertising revenue was up 1 per cent in May and 22 per cent in June - but it is forecast to be broadly flat in Q3 with August down 7 per cent, and September down 0 to 5 per cent. A 13 per cent rise in full-year revenues from making programmes like Broadchurch, to £1.58bn, meant total group revenues were just ahead - by 2 per cent. European revenues declined by 1.3 per cent, which meant group total revenue came in 4.9 per cent lower at €10.9bn - reflecting the adoption of new accounting standards and currency headwinds. Q1 organic service revenue did grow 0.3 per cent, with mobile data traffic up 57 per cent, demonstrating "Solid commercial momentum."
