Aviva chief hints at pulling insurer out of international markets

Aviva chief executive Amanda Blanc has hinted that she could pull the insurer out of most of its international markets as she focuses the business on the UK, Ireland and Canada. Aviva's biggest business is in the UK but it also operates in continental Europe, Asia and North America. "We will focus Aviva on our strongest businesses in the UK, Ireland and Canada and aim to be the UK's leading insurer," said Ms Blanc, who was appointed last month. Ms Blanc said there could be more changes to come for the dividend as Aviva focuses on cutting debt. Get alerts on Aviva PLC when a new story is published.
